A cocky correspondent of a Delhi-based news channel adjust her ear-plugs before going "on air". India’s news channels are increasingly becoming more aggressive, more intrusive, and more irritating. They rush into people’s homes, they poke their mikes into unsuspecting people, and they always claim to bring the “breaking news”.
Delhi was celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid. Some people were exchanging greetings by hugging each other. In one instance a burqa-clad granny was caught biting her finger nails even as her decked-up grandson was busy snoring in a mithai shop. Of course, Eid did not mean anything to limbless beggars.
